What can I expect my first treatment?

You will be asked about your medical history, your current physical condition and your reasons for getting a massage. You'll be asked to undress in private and drape yourself with a towel provided for you (underwear is left on or off, at your discretion); then you'll lie down on a comfortably padded massage table. Only the part of your body being worked on will be uncovered. Your modesty is respected. You can expect a professional, ethical treatment and a private, peaceful, safe and comfortable environment. Your time schedule is taken into account. You can choose a half-hour, forty-five minute, hour or hour and a half treatment.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time we do not bill insurance companies directly. We will, however, support any claim you make with receipts, letters, statements and/or treatment notes. Please check with your provider to see if they cover massage therapy. Sometimes they will if your doctor prescribes it.

Why don't you accept tips?

We want you to think of massage as part of your healthcare plan. Much the same as you would not tip your physical therapist or dental hygienist. We would rather you save the money you would tip to come back and take care of yourself.

Do I need to work exclusively with one therapist?

No. You may work with any or all the therapists at Wheaton Massage Therapy. Our therapists know that our clients may need or want to work with other therapists in the practice because of schedules or different massage styles. It does not hurt our feelings if you choose to switch or try a different therapist. You may, however, choose to work exclusively with one therapist. That is fine also.
